Professional Bio

Luke Flickema’s journey from his early days growing up in Pinckney, Michigan, to his current endeavors in the entertainment business has been a blend of creativity, hard work, and relentless pursuit of dreams. His high school years at Pinckney Community High were filled with academic rigor and personal growth, achieving a commendable 3.8 GPA while laying the foundation for future ambitions.

Luke’s academic journey took a significant turn with college credits from Eastern Michigan University in Cyber Security, leading to a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering Technology from Lawrence Technological University. These years were about acquiring knowledge and discovering a passion for audio engineering and entertainment.

Currently, Luke is immersed in a Master of Science in Entertainment Business, with an expected graduation in May 2025. This phase of his life is not just about academics; it’s about turning dreams into actionable plans. His current role at a recording studio allows him to delve deep into the intricacies of branding and comprehensive project management, aligning perfectly with his career aspirations.

The ultimate goal for Luke is to establish and grow Fernwood Creek Co., a unique blend of an organic campus and state-of-the-art production facilities. Fernwood Creek Co. will be more than just a company; it will be a legacy, an embodiment of sustainable living, and a hub for organic farming and cutting-edge entertainment production in Michigan. The land will provide fresh, organic produce, while the production facilities will feature state-of-the-art recording studios built with sustainable materials and a vision for mini studios in major cities.

Luke’s journey is dotted with milestones – from mowing the lawn every Thursday to releasing a solo EP that captures the essence of transitioning from high school to post-college life. Each step is a testament to his perseverance, vision, and the unwavering support of his family.

Looking ahead, Luke sees a future where Honey Creek Co. stands as a pillar of success and innovation, not just for him but for his family and community. It’s about creating a legacy, fostering growth, and leaving a mark that echoes through generations.

Ghost Bar

This image represents my work on the short film ‘Ghost Bar.’ As part of the audio team, I was responsible for capturing high-quality sound on set, including dialogue and ambient noises, while ensuring that the audio elements enhanced the eerie atmosphere of the film. The project challenged me to think creatively about sound design, helping to bring the mysterious and haunting elements of ‘Ghost Bar’ to life through audio.

First Time Running The Show

This image captures my first experience on set as an A1 (Lead Audio Engineer). It was a pivotal moment in my career, where I was responsible for overseeing the entire audio setup, including microphone placement, soundboard operation, and coordinating with the production team to ensure seamless audio throughout the shoot. The intensity of the environment and the need for precision taught me a great deal about the importance of preparation and communication in the role of an A1.

Student Interview

For this project, we were assigned to plan and conduct an interview with a fellow LTU student who is currently working in the audio field. The objective was to gain insights into their experiences, challenges, and the skills required in this industry. The interview provided valuable perspectives on how academic knowledge is applied in real-world scenarios, and it was an excellent opportunity to enhance our communication and interview skills.

Live Sound Engineering

For this project, I had the opportunity to work as an audio engineer at a live music event. My responsibilities included setting up and managing audio equipment, ensuring sound quality throughout the performance, and troubleshooting any technical issues that arose. This hands-on experience allowed me to apply my technical skills in a fast-paced, real-world environment, and it provided valuable insights into the intricacies of live sound management.

Strive Creative

This image highlights my collaboration with Strive Creative and Detroit Metro Chevy Dealers on a series of commercial advertisements. I had the privilege of working on three distinct projects, featuring the Chevy Blazer, Trailblazer, and Silverado. As part of the audio team, I was responsible for capturing and refining sound to meet the high standards of these professional ads. Working alongside a talented production crew, I contributed to ensuring that the audio perfectly complemented the visuals, resulting in polished and impactful advertisements that effectively conveyed the brand’s message.

Luke Flickema is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Entertainment Business at Full Sail University, where he maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA. His coursework is designed to blend his passion for entertainment with business acumen, preparing him to lead and innovate in the industry.

Lawrence Technological University

Luke Flickema earned his Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering Technology from Lawrence Technological University in December 2023, with a GPA of 3.25. During his time at LTU, he was an active member of the Audio Engineering Society Student Chapter. His education was complemented by practical experience in audio mastering, studio recording, and business development.

2015 - 2019

High School Diploma

Pinckney Comm. High School

Luke Flickema graduated from Pinckney Community High School with a GPA of 3.8 in May 2019. He was a well-rounded student, excelling academically while also engaging in various extracurricular activities. He was the Captain of the Varsity Tennis team, a member of the Michigan Thespian Society, Treasurer of the National Honor Society, and the Tech Director of the school’s 2019 spring musical. His high school experience laid a strong foundation for his future academic and professional pursuits.
